DESERT° Oracle

An AI-powered intelligence system that serves as the voice, memory, and interpreter of the Desert° ecosystem—transforming raw sensor and wildlife data into knowledge, insight, and storytelling.

Purpose / Use Case

  • Explain desert wildlife, ecosystems, and sensor data in plain language

  • Act as the central intelligence connecting all Desert° field systems

  • Translate camera trap, underground, and robotic data into meaning

  • Support education, outreach, and research interpretation

  • Operate in low-connectivity or offline field environments

Key Features

  • Raspberry Pi–based AI system

  • Local (edge) or hybrid cloud AI operation

  • Natural language Q&A about desert species and environments

  • Integrates data from:

    • AI Wildlife Camera Trap

    • DESERT° Underground Node (D.U.N.)

    • Environmental Sensor Nodes

    • AI Desert Explorer Robot

  • Optional voice input/output (microphone + speaker)

  • Expandable to AWS for syncing, learning, and visualization

Example Interactions

  • “What animal passed through this area last night?”

  • “Why do kangaroo rats survive without drinking water?”

  • “What’s happening underground right now?”

  • “Summarize today’s environmental changes.”

Status

Concept → early prototype planning

Media

  • Conversation flow diagrams (planned)

  • Oracle interface mockups (planned)

  • Demo and field-test videos (future)
