AI Desert Explorer Robot

A semi-autonomous robotic explorer designed to traverse desert terrain and collect visual, environmental, and spatial data in areas difficult or unsafe for humans to access.

Purpose / Use Case

  • Explore remote or harsh desert environments

  • Capture ground-level imagery and video of wildlife and landscapes

  • Collect environmental sensor data while mobile

  • Serve as a platform for robotics, AI, and field-tech experimentation

  • Educational demonstration of real-world robotics in nature

Key Features

  • Raspberry Pi–based control system

  • Motorized rover or tracked chassis

  • Camera module for live view, recording, or AI vision

  • Environmental sensors (temperature, humidity, light, etc.)

  • Remote control (Wi-Fi / Bluetooth) with future autonomous navigation

  • Expandable with AI models for object or species detection

Status

Concept → early prototyping phase

Media

  • Concept art & rover mockups (planned)

  • Wiring diagrams & control flow charts (planned)

  • Field test photos and videos (future)
